Stop commercial crabbing for 1 (one) fiscal year. The crab population has diminished over the last 5-10 years. If commercial crabbing was put on hold for one fiscal year then the Maryland crab population would have time to replenish. The commercial fisherman that would be affected by this would get paid up to 80% of their pay from the previous years through the tax payers money. The fisherman would have to provide an earned income from the previous year to collect the proper reimbursement. If the fisherman would like to earn closer to the amount that they have earned the previous year then they would be put to work from the local DNR, cleaning up waterways, creating habitats for the crab population and helping make our bay more beautiful.
LETS KEEP MARYLAND BEAUTIFUL.
