Stop Congressional elitism: No tenure/pension; Congressmen collect a salary while in office only, and received no pay when term is completed; Congressmen (past & present) participate in Social Security and the Congressional retirement fund moved to Social Security immediately; Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise, pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%; Congress participates in the same health care system as the American people; Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people; Salary and benefits will become more in line with middle class America, effective immediately. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a license for elitism. Our Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, terms should be served, then back to the private sector.
