Stop Congressional pay raises and provide those funds to lowering the National Debt.

Created by J.G. on March 28, 2014

Congressional pay raises take place when those in Congress deem it "needed" to receive more financial compensation for their efforts in Congress. The President of the United States makes $400,000 a year. Congressional staff make upwards of $100,000 a year. Our current national debt at roughly $55,000 per citizen can be lowered if we stop Congressional raises. This is not, however, going to be a solution that can lower the debt ceiling promptly. However, it is possible over time to see that the 300 plus members of Congress do not receive more "compensation" for that of which they already receive. With no more raises the National Debt could be projected to lower $500 per citizen over the course of many years.
