Stop the construction of the Pebble Mine in Bristol Bay Alaska to protect Alaskan salmon and Native Alaskan cultures.

The proposed Pebble Mine would pollute the Bristol Bay region of Alaska, including the destruction of miles of salmon streams. The mine would create a lake of toxic waste that cannot be moved or relocated. Destruction of salmon habitat is the exact opposite of Native Alaskan cultures that preserve and protect the salmon for future generations. This is a region that needs investment with the tribes to create green energy jobs, not pollution. President Obama protecting the Bristol Bay region of Alaska would honor his agreement to work with the First Nations tribes of North America in protecting the environment. Stopping Pebble Mine would be historic and significant. Do the right thing and protect Alaskan salmon and preserve Alaskans ability to fish and subsist in an unpolluted space.
