Repeal the “Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006”. This Act forces the pre-funding of healthcare benefits of future retirees for the next 75 years to be paid in full over this 10-year period. No other agency, or corporation is required to do this.
This bill was created to force the United States Postal Service into bankruptcy, so the large political donor corporations that paid to have this bill passed could take over the largest and best postal service in the world, the United States Postal Service. Without this pre-funding mandate the Postal Service actually shows a $700 million profit over the last four years instead of the $20 billion loss.
The USPS has taken excellent care of its retirement funds since they started it, and should continue doing so.
