stop credit score providers from billing for unwanted services

Created by J.V. on March 24, 2013

Credit score providers, such as Experian, are notorious for offering either free or $1 credit scores, but then pulling a bait and switch, signing users up for credit monitoring services they did not explicitly consent to buy. The credit score providers hide this in fine print they, and we, know very few people read -- leaving many users surprised by unexpected charges soon after obtaining their credit scores.

We submit that claiming to offer one service, but actually providing another more expensive service while obscuring that fact from users, constitutes fraud. The Federal Trade Commission should crack down on such scam operations from credit score providers.
