Recently, it was decided by the powers-that-be that Tuition Assistance benefits may/will be cut across the board for all branches come January 1, 2012. Another hot topic in this budget talk is the reduction of military retirement benefits for retirees. Taking away the retirement pension and lengthening the required term of enlistment to qualify have all been discussed. As an Active Duty military member, I can say that we already make next to nothing and the benefits we receive are what keep us going and keep morale high. Cutting these or any of our remaining benefits would be devastating to troop morale.
