The world is NOT in a period of peace. The world is spiralling out of control and we are creating a power vacuum for groups like D'aash (ISIS, ISIL) to rise and commit genocide when we weaken our forces.
We cannot keep the facade of power while gutting our military. With this proposal I emplore you to also commit to vastly more oversight - the money is not going to the lower levels where we do the fighting, it is getting sucked up by the civilian-military corporation complex to keep funding failed or over-budget projects that are not consistant with future global threats and are only still around to keep ex-military and civilians employed.
We can't keep doing more with less forever.
