Since it was first suggested in 1895, Daylight Savings Time (DST) has been active in allowing daylight to occur during active times to allow sports, retail, etc to occur during daylight hours. While this was good in the in the olden days, times have changed, culture has changed, and the way we use energy has changed. While the time change is still good for sports, we tend to use more energy during DST (Kotchen 2011), while also increasing health problems and traffic accidents (Jiddou 2013, Alsousou 2011). Efficiency and moral are assumed to drop the week after daylight savings. Those parents with children have a rougher time as children struggle to get used to the change in schedule than adults. Laws need to change with the times in productive ways. Stop Daylight Savings Time.
