stop daylight savings time. I'm not sure who benefits from it anymore, but most of the world does not participate in it

I'm not sure who is benefiting from daylight savings participation. The actual hours of daylight are still the same no matter what time they start. Maybe farmers benefit from this with daylight hours being at a more convenient time? maybe the ski resorts benefit from more convenient daylight in the winter? i don't see energy savings coming at all from a shift in daylight to people or businesses though. Right now, it just seems like an old tradition that no one knows why we do it, but we do it, because it is tradition.
