To stop the delay in funding when it comes to the Department of Homeland Security so that DHS employees will continue to receive their paychecks. Many DHS employees are considered "essential" personnel so they are "forced" to continue to report for work each day that the funding for DHS is delayed. The delay of this funding impacts not only those DHS employees, but our economy as well. If DHS employees are not paid they cannot pay creditors when they have no income, they become an added burden to state/federal assistance programs and cannot stimulate the economy when there is no income from which to utilize those proceeds. Make our elected officials stop holding DHS employees paychecks hostage while they are still receiving theirs. Pass a bill solely for funding DHS employees pay.
