Currently all Federal Law Enforcement Agencies use the polygraph as well as questionnaires to prevent candidates from joining based on their drug history. As a society we have moved past the days of "reefer madness"--the government has not. They maintain an archaic stance on something that 1 in 3 Americans have admitted to doing including President Obama. I propose the following:
*Change the rule to only disqualify current drug users--this can be done through yearly testing.
*Remove the rule that prevents people who have been involved in the "sale of drugs." Grouping Cartel leaders in the same category as those who might have occasionally (or even once) sold some of their own supply does no justice. It also disproportionately affects minorities, many who were just "trying to get by."
