to stop the Department of Energy from importing nuclear waste and storing it at INEL in Idaho.

Created by A.P. on April 07, 2013

In 1996 the DOE announced plans to make the Idaho National Engineering Lab the federal repository for high level nuclear waste. 15 years later this radioactive garbage is still at INEL and is polluting the Snake River Aquifer. DOE said they were going to move it out by 2012 and shut down INEL by 2018. THEY BROKE THEIR PROMISE! In the past month 16 million gallons of nuclear waste has been shipped to INEL for storage and it adds to the pile of trash already at the site.
