Stop dependence on foreign oil, increase renewable job markets in the U.S., decrease environmental degradation.

Created by J.E. on November 14, 2012

One of the greatest concerns being discussed in the U.S., perhaps even the world, is the economic crisis. Other major issues including war, foreign investment, climate change, etc. There is clear evidence that our way of life is not sustainable and Sandy served as a tragic reminder that our climate is changing. Sandy also showed our extreme dependence on foreign oil. However, we continue to pour funds into energy sources such as oil and hydrofracking which are detrimental to our local and global environments at ever accelerating rates. Reallocating subsidies from non-renewable resources to innovative green energies would cut ties with countries growing in hostility towards the US, would create jobs in the US with higher investment return rates, and would help reverse climate change.
