Stop Deploying Service Members to Cuba

Created by D.K. on March 17, 2015

My name is Specialist Kelly and I served in JTF-160 in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba from 2001-2002, Operation Enduring Freedom.

My MOS was Journalist. My unit was charged with delivering a story to the American people and world that was false: Detainees are here for prosecution and justice. Time would later reveal that was not the case, but torture.

Being deployed in support of an operation that was clearly against the Army Values and basic human morality permanently affected me (PTSD), and who knows how many others who were made to serve in that awful place.

Please cease deployment of volunteer Service Members to Cuba as a matter of integrity and honor, for our country and the people who protect it.
