To stop the despoiling of our great and pristine national parks and forests. Millions of bears and other users of these treasured national assets are using our pristine national forests as their person toilet. It has been estimated by wildlife biologists that each day up to a million tons of waste are being deposited directly into these forested areas with the black and brown bears estimated as the worst abusers. This activity has until, just recently, gone under the radar. Most offenses take place at night, behind trees, and out of view of the general public.
We need to create a national parks system of porta-potties and an educational awareness program to help wildlife responsibly manage their waste. Our national parks were never intended to be a national toilet. We must act now.
