Orlando's Field of Dreams & Saving Orlando's Historic Ball Field. Where OVER 100 YEARS OF PIONEER Families & ORLANDOANS built a field of Dreams,( with the help of the WPA during the depression to upgrade it. It's historic because it's been visited by every iconic player for 100 plus years since the '20's. The Great Bambino played there as did Aaron, Hank Aaron, Willie Stargill, and lest we forget, so did Jackie Robinson. Martin Luther King spoke there and was aware that his efforts were not too distant from the history of baseball, as he visited there to help break other color barriers, as Jackie did. The historic value of our Sports venues is a no-brainer and if 350,000 visit the Baseball Hall of Fame, this historic park in our town that welcomes 52 million visitors yearly,.
