stop development and distribution of America's Army, the first-person shooter video game developed by the US Army

As the nation continues to struggle with tragic incidents of gun violence, President Obama has indicated that he will use his influence in any way possible to eliminate future tragedies. He has previously suggested that weapons designed for the battlefield should not be found in our neighborhoods. At the same time, the United States Army continues to develop and distribute "America's Army", a first-person shooter video game that virtually places military weapons right into the homes of anyone who downloads it for free. No doubt it was created with noble goals in mind, but this game puts official government approval on the idea that repeated killing of multiple targets with military weapons has no consequences, and if done well is worthy of praise. It is time to stop promoting this message.
