All military branches are denying citizens that wish to enlist because they have tattoos located on their forearms or hands. Many of these citizens could very well prove a valuable asset to our national defense. Denying a citizen the right to enlist because of an expression of artwork simply to keep the appearance professional is discrimination just as race. Why would someone fighting for our country need to look professional? Eventually, tattoos will no longer be discriminated against, so why not start now?! I, myself, wish to enlist, but cannot due to my arms being 25% covered. Gang or extremist associated tattoos are understandable and should be denied. However, an expression of artwork should not hinder someone from joining our national defenses.
