Rental owners/sellers and HOA (Homeowner associations) have the power due to the by-laws to discriminate against unmarried (life partners) or gay/lesbian/transgendered people. This is discrimination and the HOA and anyone with rental property should not be allowed to deny housing due to these reasons. Fair Housing act needs to be updated or President Obama can write a response that forbids this offence.
I have lived in my association for 18 years without a problem. Then out of the blue I get a letter stating that I am in violation of the by-laws of the HOA for living an immoral lifestyle. I was not married - living with a man and this violated the deed restrictions. I am being fined 100.00 a day.
This occurred because of 1 person who has a hatred of anyone living in sin.
