Stop discrimination of people trying to donate life saving blood!

Created by C.S. on February 16, 2013

Blood banks like the American Red Cross and United Blood Services rely on donors to fill the needs of hospitals to save lives. There are certain restrictions in place to make sure infected blood is not passed on to a healthy person. If a person has visited a specific country, has an illness, low hemoglobin, or other risks.

Your sex life should not be considered an automatic denial! Men who are homosexual or bisexual and women who have come in contact with homosexual or bisexual men are BANNED PERMANENTLY from donating blood.

This isn't the 1980s. Why stop someone from giving blood based on their intimate lives? More men and women practice safe sex and are tested regularly.

Blood is also tested before it is given to patients. Please ask blood banks to STOP this outdated discrimination.
