At Ontario Canada, individuals with permanent psychiatric disorders are allowed to become unarmed sworn officers if they hold a college degree and agree to be monitored. Here in the U.S. we have read many stories of armed officers hiding their illness or getting off their prescriptions to allow themselves to hold a position in Law-Enforcement. This is can be dangerous and at the same time it is unfair to those who are discriminated due to a permanent illness. We have come to an age where these brain disorders are common and can be properly managed but unlike our Canadian neighbors we still shun those with these illnesses that they probably didn't deserve to acquire. I am proposing this issue which is very controversial but deep down I know many will come out of their shadows.
