The Federal Government just finalized its decision to change the company that runs the Medicare program in California, Hawaii, Nevada, and American Samoa.
Although this will apparently save administrative costs, the PRIOR transition (just 5 years ago) was so DISRUPTIVE that some doctors were on the brink of BANKRUPTCY because of failure to be paid and consequently Medicare patients faced difficulty accessing doctors that would accept Medicare.
Saving money should be BALANCED by the potential for repeat CHAOS if a change occurs so soon (we have had relative "stability" for only 3 years).
In short, this change THREATENS TO UNDERMINE PATIENT AND PROVIDER CONFIDENCE IN THE MEDICARE PROGRAM.
PUT OFF this change for 3-5 years to avoid the risk to seniors.
