For decades, farmers have used antibiotics in their livestock's food in order to prevent the animals from catching the numerous diseases that infest their living areas. Because saving money is the sole goal of all industries, it has become so that the living conditions of the animals that we eat are filthy. Not only are they unsanitary, but they leave the animals to a life of walking around in a small pen of their own feces.
In retrospect, when the idea of giving livestock antibiotics to prevent infection was first introduced, it probably seemed like a brilliant and proactive solution. However with the progression of diseases, scientists do believe that these germs are evolving and are learning tolerate these antibiotics that we are constantly ingesting.
