The Villages of Florida Healthcare providers are pushing Medicare retirees from Original Medicare to Medicare advantage plans. These Medicare Advantage (MA) insurance products are subsidized by Medicare. Providers say that we don’t care if you have basic Medicare. We will discriminate/deny you service. Why? Because they get more money from the government in the form of a subsidy associated with MA plans!
Congress AND Medicare need to have protections from this form of discrimination. Any Medicare Doctor; medical facility or insurance company having this policy should be denied to participate in Medicare reimbursement. To allow this denial of coverage for original Medicare sets a wrong precedence because it becomes then a de-facto form of government sponsored discrimination
