The United States is the only industrialized nation that taxes its citizens on both a citizenship and Residence basis.
This means that it is only Americans working and residing overseas who, in addition to being taxed on their worldwide income by the country where they live and work, are also double taxed on this same income by their country of citizenship, the United States. No other industrialized country double-taxes its non-resident citizens.
