Our DOD has funding cut so much that not only are they being forced to kick service members out who have great service records but our E1-E3 members live at just above poverty levels. In fact if you were to remove the tax paid out of their yearly salary they could receive food stamps, Unfortunately food assistance programs only look at your earnings before taxes . making budget cuts and being downsized just because the Government believes combat actions are coming to a stand still is a recipe for disaster. We must remain trained and ready for any threat at anytime, not just train hard during a time of war but train just as hard in times of peace and to do so and stay militarily ready for anything requires our numbers to be strong and our funding to be enough to keep our war fighters sharp
