Stop Drone Strikes in Yemen

Created by J.C. on December 16, 2013

On December 13, 2013 A US drone strike fired on a wedding convoy in Yemen (http://lat.ms/1heTX2l). 17 people were killed and 19 others were injured. Of the dead, only 5 were suspected of involvement of Al Qaeda.

This is an alarming anecdote to a larger problem: The White House's drone program is creating more problems than it is solving. This site (http://bit.ly/1fhDw3U/) explains that of the 3,207 people killed in Pakistan by drone strikes since 2004, only 2% have been high-profile targets. The rest are "civilians, children, and "alleged combatants".

"Before any strike is taken, there must be near-certainty that no civilians will be killed or injured—the highest standard we can set" ~President Obama, in May

Keep America safe. Stop the drones and stop killing innocent people!
