Stop employer discrimination based on tattoos, hair color/styles, and piercings.

The government has a proud precedent of protecting citizens' rights to freedom of speech and expression, as well as the rights of citizens to be who they are without fear of not being able to be employed. Employers are already not allowed to discriminate against employees for race, gender, sexual orientation, age, and disability. We demand that everyone's freedom of expression be respected when it involves their own bodies, as long as the expression abides by the current laws governing public images. Hair color, piercings, and non-offensive body art do not affect the ability to perform a job, anymore than race and gender do, and employers cannot continue to refuse applicants or threaten current employees with job-loss because they do not approve of the appearance of the individual.
