STOP EMPLOYERS FROM USING CREDIT REPORTS IN THE HIRING PROCESS. EQUAL THE OPPORTUNITY FOR TALENTED CANDIDATES.

Created by L.C. on November 06, 2011

During an economic climate where unemployment has been highest since the great depression and more people are homeless, have lost their homes, filed for bankruptcy and faced financial upheaval to survive with basic necessities; many unemployed and under-employed Americans are unable to pay all of their bills on time. This is not a fact that they are proud of but due to circumstances beyond their control, they have had to readjust priorities with the funds available.

They are still hardworking and smart people. They have not become thieves. An article in Consumer Affairs website www.consumeraffairs.com indicates "there is no link between credit score and deviate work behavior"(11-4-2011). The government needs to restrict the use of credit reports in the hiring process.
