stop encouraging racism by constantly asking us to divide ourselves into categories based on ethnicity

Created by M.C. on March 22, 2013

"United" that is the first word of our country. So why is it almost every government form we have to fill out asks us first to divide ourselves against our neighbors? i believe an easy step to curb American racism is to drop the race question from all federal forms. i only see these questions as a way to divide us into sub-groups and force us to look at ourselves as different from our neighbors. so i propose from now on, all forms and official documents should no longer ask or have ethnicity or race. but instead ask nationality for this will only allow two responses, American or other and thus be the first honest step to promote unity within our borders. it is a simple step that i believe will make a huge difference especially to our children. we are one people you should treat us as such
