Our country spends roughly 14.8 billion dollars a year on this "War on Drugs". This is an endless war and now is not the time to waste money on programs that are ineffective and costly.
I don't know about anyone else, but if cocaine were legal tomorrow I still would choose not to do it. If someone wants to do a particular drug, they are going to do it...whether or not it's legal. Marijuana has been scientifically proven to help heal and cure over 200 different diseases and illnesses. Yet it remains illegal.
Lets stop throwing 14.8 billions dollars away a year and make an added 14 billion from regulating and taxing these substances.Shouldn't we use this money on healthcare or the school system? This war that is draining us and is obviously isn't working is taking from our future.
