Bring back medical transcription jobs. Stop enforcing physicians to use electronic medical records (and/or at least do not penalize if doctors opt to use only portions of this technology). This technology/software has practically eliminated the need for Medical Transcriptionists who have had to pay for training and certification in this field. Once a booming career; now only 5% of physicians maintain MTs because of congresses threat to punish them. Very sad yet institutions still offer this career & some appear to make it mandatory to learn if it is listed in the curriculum. Potential students will have to pay for training they will never use unless congress can back off penalizing physicians.
