Stop the excessive testing of schoolchildren in our public schools.

Each year, children in public schools throughout the nation stop their learning in order to participate in a myriad of standardized tests. These tests do little to improve student learning, critical thinking and reasoning skills, citizenship, or develop the skills necessary for living and working in the global economy of the 21st century. Starting with NCLB and continuing with Race to the Top and NCLB waivers, we reduce children to nothing more than numbers and multiple choice tests.
