Richard O'Dwyer, the Sheffield University student, is accused of infringing on US copyright laws by creating and running a website/search engine that linked users to protected content that could be viewed for free. The site itself did not contain copyrighted material; A simple linking facility. He is being extradited to the United States under the guise of violating copyright law here. He does not own servers in the US.
We should stop the extradition and let his own country handle his trial. His alleged crimes took place on British soil. If for some reason his extradition goes through before there is enough support, send him home with our apologies.
