Stop FAA from charging for ATC services already covered in fuel taxes.

Since sequestration 2013 the FAA has set precedence in requiring the reimbursement of ATC services for events such as Sun N Fun and EAA Airventure. These ATC services have been historically provided at no additional cost. Funding for ATC services is already paid for by aviation fuel taxes. FAA has put in place special procedures and training for air traffic at these events due to the large number of aircraft traffic attending. Lack of additional controllers for FAA procedures would create a safety hazard to both aircraft in the vicinity and potentially life and property on the ground. The possibility of no longer being able to hold these events due to paying for ATC services is detrimental to the economy and the aviation industry as a whole. The petition is asking for the FAA to stop.
