Stop the FDA from requiring vending companies to list the nutritional information on the vending machines.

The FDA is requiring the nutritional information be listed for each item on the front of all vending machines owned by businesses that have more than 20 machines. Most small businesses do not make enough money to afford the additional computer equipment necessary to fulfill this requirement (approximately $500 per machine). The costs would be passed on to the consumer, while the intent of the law is to get people to not eat junk food. The argument is that if people eat 100 calories less per day, the costs for the healthcare would be reduced more than the cost of the computers. The vending small businesses will lose profits through increased costs in equipment and less sales volume due to the price increases. Small businesses will be forced to close which hurts the economy.
