The federal government plans to spend $40 billion of taxpayer dollars to build a high-speed train to connect San Francisco and Disneyland.
Although this train was approved by a ballot measure in 2008, today a majority of Californians believe that this project should be stopped because our state is struggling financially and the train will require an additional $30 billion in state-issued bonds.
In this age of shared sacrifice, we should not ask hard-working Americans all over this country to pay for a high-speed rail system that most Californians do not want.
