Our continued presence in Afghanistan will never result in more stability and a "responsible withdrawal". In fact every dollar we spend there serves our enemies ten fold in their efforts to kill our soldiers and sabotage our efforts. The corrupt Karzai and his dope dealing brother are just as much our enemy as are the few radical Islamists that are in the country. We only empower them with money and growing anti American by our presence.
Our continued presence there is a dire threat to our national security and the true "Fiscal Cliff" that Bin Laden had hoped we would follow him off.
If we stay we lose more and more every day until it will bankrupt us as it did the Soviet Union.
The only difference is we may not be as lucky in withdrawing without a bloodbath unless we hurry it up !
