Since 1945, the United States has waged a number of blatantly illegal and oppressive wars, without obtaining a constitutional declaration of war. The result has been the waste of literally trillions of dollars, tens of thousands of American lives, and hundreds of thousands of innocent foreign civilian lives.
Obama should make efforts to ensure that US troops are never set into combat again, without a formal constitutional declaration of war.
