Stop the FMCSA's proposed Hours Of Service changes

Sense the current hours of service were implemented 7 years ago (2003) the trucking industry has made significant strides to reduce the number of fatal and injury accidents about 1/3, despite truck mileage increasing by 10 billion miles. The rules that are in place are working very well and don’t need to be changed. The proposed changes could cause significant losses in productivity and increased consumer costs for goods and services. The FMCSA’s own data bears this out; to change the current hours of service will cost the trucking industry billions of dollars a cost that would be passed on the American consumer. According to the U.S. DOT the proposed changes fail FMCSA own cost-benefit analysis and could result in productivity losses in the range of $2 billion annually.
