Churches and other religious institutions receive tax exempt status from the federal government. This means that their potential taxes have to instead be made up for by regular tax payers. As many people do not agree with their message, do not force us to support their continued functioning by footing their tax bill as well as our own. In this time of economic strain we cannot afford to continue granting special privilege to religious organizations.
