Fracking does irreversible damage creating gas explosions, earthquakes, catastrophic long term effects to both the environment and the health of residents. Plus the additional danger of storing byproducts such as methane (96x more potent than carbon dioxide) that fracking produces.
Fracking uses a combination of chemicals, sand and water. Once the natural gas has been extracted, the chemicals and contaminated water (which is so poisonous it can not be filtered or reused) are left in the Earth where it is free to leach into the ground water supply thereby contaminating both our environment and drinking water causing adverse health effects and illness.
It’s time we think in the long term and not the short and start focusing on green renewable energy sources for our future!
