Stop Future Government Shutdowns and Threats of Economic Default.

Created by A.F. on October 19, 2013

No part of the government should be allowed to hold the economy hostage in order to push a political agenda. Legal measures need to be taken in order to prevent the House, the Senate, or any section of government, from threatening the nation's economy during negotiations regarding the budget or other policy issues. This kind of coercion amounts to dictatorship and is unconstitutional.

We request that a law be enacted, which ensures that budget/policy negotiations shall not coincide with the raising of the debt ceiling, or the renewing of government funding for the fiscal year. If the House and Senate cannot reach a reasonable agreement by a specific deadline, then the current year's budget shall continue until the next fiscal year.

It's time to stop all of the political nonsense now!
