Stop Garnishing Service Related Disability Pension from Veterans who were Voluntarily Separated from the Military.

Created by J.M. on April 26, 2014

Stop taking Disability Pension from our Veterans. The Department of Veterans Affairs is garnishing each monthly payment from Disabled Veterans who participated in The Voluntary Separation Pay Program. The VA and service members disability has nothing to do with the fact that the service member was paid for voluntarily separating from the military. It's a payment for disabilities obtained while serving their country. The VA is taking each monthly payment of disability pension until the separation payment is paid in full, as if the separation payment were a loan. Payments that have been recouped should be back paid to the service member. This policy should be dropped immediately.
