We the people, a common folk, rely on the government to stabilize the price of gas for every individual. This affects everything within the economy and strikes down the lower and middle class the hardest. We have to pay for gas to get anywhere, for imports and exports, and it directly affects pricing for food, textiles, etc.
There should be a cap on gas price inflation. The government is not doing enough to help the common person afford everyday expenses. Half of a person's paycheck should not go into their vehicle. Not everyone can afford to go and get an energy effecient car or truck. The economy would benefit if we had the extra money in our pockets as opposed to in the tank.
