The petition is about stopping gas stations from raising gas prices during peak travel season. By raising gas prices it means a higher demand in oil, and higher gas taxes. With a higher demand in oil it means more drilling which isn’t good. Also, investors who invest all their money in this business thinking gas prices will never fall end up losing money. Gas prices do in fact fall which, really doesn’t help the economy.
