Stop the "Georgia Death Race" from using remote hiking trails in the National Forest and use FS Roads instead.

The "Georgia Death Race" is planning to have 150+ runners, support staff, and spectators invade the Duncan Ridge and Benton MacKaye Trails March 16th. These trails are in remote, rugged terrain and are designed to provide a wilderness experience of solitude for hikers and trail runners. A crowd this large imposing itself on this setting is counter to the purpose and intent of the trails and would better be served on Forest Service roads that are in the same area and would provide similar terrain and even better accessibility for emergency crews that may be needed for the participants.
