Stop government of Nicolas Maduro from brutally violating fundamental human rights of the people of Venezuela

Created by A.L. on February 22, 2014

Since February 12, 2014, Nicolas Maduro’s government has ordered paramilitary groups, national and state police and the National Guard to repress public demonstrations across major cities, resulting in dozen of deaths and hundreds of illegal arrests, including torture and physical abuse. As public protests continue, the government of Nicolas Maduro uses paramilitary groups to implement a general state of terror among the civilian population. We petition the government of the United States of America to exercise diplomatic measures and legal actions in order to dissuade the government of Nicolas Maduro to stop the brutal violation of human rights, free political prisoners, disarm paramilitary groups, and respond for the brutal acts committed against the people of Venezuela.
