Stop governmental double dipping and make the Social Security/Medicare Tax a pre-tax deduction.

Created by C.K. on June 13, 2014

Purpose: This petition is meant to stop governmental double dipping in the American paycheck.

Problem: Currently the Social Security/Medicare Tax (SS tax) is calculated from the total gross value of a workers take home pay and then the federal/state taxes are calculated from the taxable gross (after pre-tax deductions are taken out, i.e. retirement, etc) Using this this form of tax calculation, the amount of taxes that the average worker pays is artificially inflated. In addition, to this tax padding, when SS is drawn after retirement, the money is once again taxed. (Hence the double dipping)

Proposal: Either make the SS tax a pre-tax deduction OR remove the addtional tax when the money is drawn after the age of retirement. (Typically 62 years of age)
